Slab Loam

Slab loam is composed mostly of sand, silt, and a smaller amount of clay. The clay and silt help retain the moisture while the sand keeps the soil from compacting too much. Loam is ideal for gardening and building projects because it retains nutrients well and retains water while still allowing excess water to drain away.
